I think Pepper's right. I'm not a bad person or a bad friend because I didn't know, didn't find out. People with problems like that, they do their best to hide it. So why do I still feel like if I were still in the department I could have helped him?
I know I've said before that I almost felt cheated by him being the Boy Who Lived and all after everything we did back then, but at the same time he's always been a good Auror and a friend. So many people I knew, good, amazing people, gave their lives to protect him. And now...
Why is it that I've been in this job for over twenty-five years and I still wonder what Rufus would do in this situation? He'd probably know better than I do.
